Pastor Emeritus, retired after forty-five years of pastoral ministry. The author of several books including Jesus Loves the Church and So Should You and 50 World-Changing Events in Christian History. He resides in Elkin, North Carolina, and is engaged in a writing ministry in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

He and his wife, Debby, were married in 1975 and have one son, Caleb.

Upon completion of his theological education, Earl Blackburn labored as a church-planting missionary in Utah for seven years. In his forty-five plus years of pastoral ministry, he has traveled extensively, preaching in pastors' conferences, and teaching theological modules in the United States, Canada, Europe, southern Africa, and Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, Singapore).

Blackburn authored Jesus Loves the Church and So Should You (SGCB-2010), John Chrysostom (EP-2012), edited and contributed to Covenant Theology: A Baptist Distinctive (SGCB-2012), and wrote 50 World-Changing Events in Christian History (Christian Focus-2018). Plus, he has contributed to the book Denominations or Associations (Calvary Press-2001) and Going Beyond the Five Points (VP-2015), and has written for numerous periodicals, including Founder's Journal (USA), Reformation Today (United Kingdom), Preachers & Preaching (South Africa), and The Gospel Highway (Malaysia). Also, he has authored several booklets published by Reformed Baptist Publications, including “Unconditional Election,” “The Means of Grace,” and “Why You Should Join a Church.”
